CAS Hefei Coal Gasification Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "ZHGAS") was invited to attend, bringing its core technological achievements to inject new momentum into the industry's green transformation.

During the seminar, Yang Shaojun, Deputy General Manager of ZHGAS, delivered a keynote speech titled "Circulating Fluidized Bed Technology Solutions and Engineering Applications." Focusing on the core demands of green heating and carbon reduction in industrial parks, he systematically shared innovative application pathways for Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) technology. He highlighted that the technology primarily contributes to the "Dual Carbon" goals through two main approaches: First, by empowering biomass direct combustion, it overcomes the challenges of low efficiency and poor stability in traditional biomass utilization, thereby enabling the efficient and stable operation of centralized heating and distributed power generation in industrial parks. Second, by further developing biomass gasification technology, it produces clean industrial gas and syngas, providing clean fuels and green raw materials for new materials, chemical, and other industries, thus facilitating upstream carbon reduction across the industrial value chain.

Promoting the green transformation of heating systems is a crucial component for industrial parks to achieve their "Dual Carbon" goals. As significant carbon emitters within these parks, traditional coal-fired and gas-fired boilers have become a major constraint on green development, urgently needing to be replaced by clean and low-carbon heating methods. Addressing this industry pain point, Mr. Yang, in his speech, thoroughly analyzed the core advantages and innovative value of circulating fluidized bed (CFB) biomass gasification technology.

This technology, meticulously developed by the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, over more than ten years, achieves clean, efficient, and low-cost gasification under mild conditions by establishing two major cycles – a high-concentration carbon cycle and a system energy cycle. The technology boasts wide raw material adaptability and low furnace entry requirements, suitable for various types of biomass feedstocks such as forestry waste (branches, bark, leaves, etc.) and agricultural waste (straw, rice husks, peanut shells, etc.). It requires no pre-carbonization, pelletizing, or binder additives; simple shaping is sufficient. From the source, it provides industrial parks with a low-cost, high-efficiency energy solution for green heating. Furthermore, the technology offers additional advantages, including excellent environmental performance indicators, high system energy efficiency, high equipment operating rates, and a high degree of automation.

To more intuitively showcase the practical efficacy of the technology, Mr. Yang detailed the industrialization achievements of circulating fluidized bed technology, drawing on multiple engineering cases. Among these, the direct-fired boiler series products developed by the R&D team have been promoted and applied in nearly 50 units. The biomass gasification technology has achieved full-chain technological breakthroughs, from research into the fundamental characteristics of various biomass types to the completion of the gasification technology process package. It has now been successfully industrialized, not only enabling the resource utilization of agricultural and forestry solid waste but also providing a practical technological path to achieve regional "Dual Carbon" goals.

During the seminar, the circulating fluidized bed technology, thanks to its remarkable energy-saving and carbon reduction achievements, received high recognition from numerous guests and became a focal point of on-site discussions. Many park operators and energy companies proactively engaged with ZHGAS team to discuss potential technological cooperation and project implementation. This participation in the conference not only allowed ZHGAS to fully showcase its robust technical capabilities in green heating and carbon reduction but also built a bridge for in-depth cooperation with industry partners, laying a solid foundation for the further promotion and application of the technology.

As a specialized industrialization platform for circulating fluidized bed gasification technology, ZHGAS consistently relies on technological innovation as its core driving force, with a deep focus on the energy and chemical sectors. In the future, the company will continue to increase its R&D investment, promoting the deep integration of solid waste resource utilization and green energy supply. This commitment aims to provide full-cycle zero-carbon energy solutions for more industrial parks, thereby assisting in the accelerated achievement of "Dual Carbon" goals.
